Quarantine Services

Our facility has two vehicle wash bays and 10 vehicle inspection bays and our turn around time is generally 3-5 days. If you would like to use our services, have your import/export broker contact us via the form at the end of the page.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is the governing body in regards to Quarantine Laws in Australia. Quarantine inspection and cleaning prevents the spread of foreign materials (pests) including seeds, insects and animals into Australia. It is very important to keeping our ecosystem balanced. Vehicles coming from overseas may contain Quarantine Risk Materials (QRM) lodged underneath, inside the cabin or in the engine bay which must be removed to prevent the spread of pests.

When your car arrives into Australia it will be inspected first by a Biosecurity Officer at the Wharf or our premises. If no QRM is found, the vehicle will be released to you. If QRM is found, which happens often, the vehicle will be directed to a Quarantine Approved Premises (QAP) such as ourselves for the cleaning removal of any QRM.
Once cleaning is complete, the vehicle will be re-inspected by a Biosecurity Officer to ensure the QRM has been adequately removed and then the vehicle will be released to you.
Most vehicles only require vacuuming and an exterior pressure wash. What most people are confused about is the level of cleanliness their vehicle needs. Your vehicle only needs to be free from QRM, it does not require tyre shine or any sort of detailing. The job of a QAP is to remove QRM in order to pass through the strict Quarantine Laws of Australia. The vehicle will undergo a full inspection by our team to locate any QRM and them remove it. The expertise comes with knowing where to look for the QRM and knowing how to safely remove it.

Where any live insects or animals are found, our team will handle notifying the DA and follow the appropriate steps.

You are able to collect your vehicle from us directly between opening hours. You must bring a copy of the Quarantine Release, a special document which your broker/shipping agent will forward to you. This document says the vehicle is clear from Quarantine and you have permission to move it from our QAP.

Is your vehicle arriving in a container?
No problem! We can unpack your vehicle right here for you and complete First Inspection and Cleaning & Re-Inspection if needed. If your vehicle is unpacked elsewhere we can also collect it from the packers and still provide Quarantine services for you!
