Compliance

Compliance

If you're importing your own vehicle to Australia or if you're look at importing a vehicle from overseas, the processes can be quite different. We can provide you with all the info required to get your car where it needs to be.

Any vehicle imported into Australia requires compliance certification to ensure it meets Australia’s Standards. As a Registered Automotive Workshop or RAW, we are able to provide compliance on most vehicles.

If you are importing your own personal vehicle from overseas into Australia you are required to apply for a Personal Import Approval. Upon arrival your vehicle is still subject to Quarantine. Once cleared, you will need a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) & Engineers Endorsement in order to register your vehicle.

If you have purchased a vehicle from overseas and wish to import it to Australia, you are required to first check the vehicles eligibility status on the “SEVS register”. The SEVS register tells you that the vehicle you wish to import can be made compliant to Australian Standards provided specific work is carried out.
If it’s on the list and you choose to import the vehicle, the vehicle must still go through Quarantine and then a RAWS workshop is needed to carry out compliance. The RAWS will follow a list of instructions outlined for your particular vehicle which must be completed to ensure your vehicle meets Australian Standards. Once this work is completed, your vehicle will be fitted with a new “Compliance Plate”. You then need a RWC and your documents from importing and compliance in order to register your vehicle.

If you are looking to import a vehicle that is pre 12/1988 or 25years old +, contact us as they are imported under a different government scheme.
